Our Chaga tincture is a dual extract made from wild chaga, harvested from birch in Finland and prepared in small batches.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) looks nothing like a typical mushroom. It grows on birch trees as a hard, black, deeply cracked mass, a little like burnt charcoal on the outside, with a rusty golden-brown interior. It is found in cold northern forests across Russia, Scandinavia and North America, and occasionally in Scotland. In Siberia and Finland it has long been brewed as a tea, and it remains a distinctive ingredient in botanical preparations today.
We extract the dried chaga in hot water, using ultrasonic extraction, and in plant-derived ethanol, then combine the two extracts into a single tincture. Nothing else goes in: no fillers, no grain-grown mycelium, no preservatives.

Our extraction process
Every bottle passes through the same careful stages, in batches small enough to watch closely.
Step 1: Selected
Carefully selected mushrooms: UK-grown fruiting bodies, and wild chaga from Finland.
Step 2: Extracted
Extracted in hot water with the help of ultrasound, and separately in ethanol.
Step 3: Combined
Each extract is carefully brought together into the finished formulation.
Step 4: Bottled
Prepared in small batches in Dorset.
How it's made
Fruiting body first
We use whole fruiting bodies rather than grain-grown biomass. Our chaga, which grows differently, is wild-harvested from birch.
Small-batch preparation
Prepared in deliberately limited batches in Dorset, so each one can be looked after properly.
Dual extraction
Hot water with ultrasonic extraction, and ethanol, each draw out different mushroom constituents.
Carefully sourced
Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps and Oyster are grown in the UK. Our chaga is wild-harvested in Finland.
